Piggin’ Flu

Some of you may have noticed that I’ve been a little quiet for a week or so. I and my family have been experiencing the recent flu outbreak here in CCTV land. I don’t know if it was the infamous swine flu or not but I can attest to the fact that it certainly was a pig.

One of the side effects was that I could read the many wonderful and powerful blogs listed down the right hand side of this page but I couldn’t summon up enough energy to make a genuine and informed contribution. The odd post here and there and that was it.

I’m getting back on form again and just as well with all that’s been going on. Earthquakes, suspicious bird and fish deaths with a healthy dose of the daily theft and rape of everyday life dressed up as western civilisation. See what happens why you take a few days off?

I don’t have much in the way of original ranting or inner wisdom – that’s not my strong point anyway (grin). What roused me a little was this tale. It is most surely fictional but it really made my day. I take no responsibility for the spelling mistakes – it’s a straight copy and paste job...

When Grandma Goes To Court

In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand. He approached her and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know me?' She responded, 'Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams. I've known you since you were a boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, and you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you'll never amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you.'

The lawyer was stunned. Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, 'Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?'

She again replied, 'Why yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone, and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him.'

The defense attorney nearly died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench and, in a very quiet voice, said,

'If either of you idiots asks her if she knows me, I'll send you both to the electric chair.'

  1. Chucky, that story, even if it's fiction, tells a typical tale of where I live. Just the other day our brand new sheriff had his mother arrested for disorderly conduct. :)

  2. I must admit to being a sucker for these types of stories Kenny. Characters like these would certainly make life more interesting.

  6. Hey chucky,
am also still here and as Les likes to say:-"Still shakin´ it here, boss". :)

Things are rather strange at the moment but I guess we all knew it was coming.
Anyone who says they have all the answers deserves Mahatma status.

I have found that the more I find out, the less I know. Things are really heating up right now and it´s a huge cesspool of illusion/disillusion/delusion out there.
There are more and more days when I stay away from the internet and simply appreciate nature and my family, that surrounds me.

    Be well

  7. I am wondering if what I had was swine flu also. I know my left lung was like somebody was sticking a knife in it when I coughed. I don't usually go to cipro but the suspense was killing me as to whether I had pneumonia or a baseball size cancerous tumor. Most of the pain is gone and only a twinge is left. I managed four days on the grape diet also. I was wondering if it might be check out time.

  9. Hello again Gudrun. It’s great to hear from you.

You have an apt way of putting things. I try to learn as much as I can. I don’t know any more but I am more open to the possibilities

Great approach to the coming times. This virtual life is no substitute for the real thing.

  10. It doesn’t take much for those dark thoughts to slip worst case scenarios into view. I hope you’re on the mend DM. I’m sure the sea breeze full of corexit doesn’t help either. Don’t take anything for granted brother.

  11. Have you been leading a busy life Timster? Only joking (grin). I may be a boring old fart but it makes for a clear conscience.

My grandmother used to say some amazing things. She once said that if she was ever reincarnated she wanted to come back as a hooker - this from a devout Catholic!!

Maybe after a certain age you can stop worrying about peer pressure and social consequences.

I get the hint re work rate (grin)

Hi I am An Aerospace Electro/Mechanical engineer and live in Hot Springs Arkansas.
I would like to give you some information I have been following sense early December 2010
When I saw a news flash on yahoo about a crack in the northern geomagnetic field see the link below.

    http://www.nasa.gov/centers/goddard/news/topstory/2003/1203image_cluster.html

At first I was concern so I started tracking Spaceweather now to see if there were any increase in solar activity but was surprised that the sun was calm, however I check this site daily up to today and only found slight elevations in the sun activity which also puzzled me.

So I starter looking at local anomalies that could account for such a reaction to the birds being affected and I found that different region have higher level of magnet fields and appear the Little Rock and Beebe area falls in one area that has a positive charge nanotesla field at 1000 feet elevation colored in red which would attach the negative charged solar winds electrons and ions. see link:

    http://pubs.usgs.gov/ds/352/arkla.html
    other State Maps http://crustal.usgs.gov/projects/namad/state_listing.html

    Conclusion
The crack is rotating as seen in Auroral Activity Extrapolated from NOAA observations on the sun side of the earth were high energy particle enter the atmosphere and spread around to the dark side of earth and are distributed across the hemisphere then to space and create a snapping of magnetic field lines which can induce brief hi current and lighting. And as I recall we had a coronal hole and coronal ejection earth bound on the December 30/31 2010.
Sense the timing of the fire works may have masted the lighting and thunder it is very possible that this event and other similar die offs could have been caused by the Crack in the Geo magnet shield and localized in areas of hi absorpsion on earth.

  13. Excellent find DM. There is currently a large gap in the Sun’s coronal cover – lots of interesting energy can get released into the wild. The idea of UV auroras is not very reassuring.

Most folks are completely unaware that the Sun and Earth are continually connecting via electromagnetic flux connectors – Birkeland currents. If you check today’s front page of the Space weather site you will also see a picture of ‘punch hole cloud’ formations.

  16. Hi there musique and I’m delighted that you dropped by. I do admire that courageous old dame. Toughness is not measured by how much pain you can give out but in how much you can take and still keep going. She certainly has done that.

I appreciate the many words of comfort folks. I’m a lot better and I’m currently trying to get my head around a book sent by DM. More on that shortly.

  18. Damn. I did not know that DM. I had assumed he was having a ‘quiet period’. I hope he figures out what he wants to do. I would definitely miss his voice.
